2021 PROPHESIES AND THE OSINBAJO EXPECTATION

The respiratory virus that came to be known as covid-19 was already in the picture as early as late November and major news channels had begun reporting it, but in the usual manner, Nigerian Pentecostal Ministries deliver prophetic utterances they claim to have gotten from God, yet almost none of them saw the coming of a global pandemic.

Based on this major gaffe, displeased Nigerians went on social media and declared that this time around, they were not going to put a lot of stock on whatever proclamations would come from the usual quarters.

Hence it was a major surprise, when skits started circulating that Apostle Suleiman had held a church service on the 30th of December 2020, where he prophesied that God had told him that power (in the Executive) was going to change hands peacefully as number 2 was going to become number 1, and like clockwork, at least two other pastors, one of whom is Ghanaian Prophet Nigel Gaisie, have echoed the same prophecy.

At this juncture it becomes necessary to state that the person in question is he whom the Emir of Daura has described as the most loyal and best Vice President Nigeria has ever had, Professor Yemi Osinbajo.

There were also speculations making the rounds at the time, that certain state governors of northern origin had even begun to lobby for the Vice Presidential seat, thinking that then Acting President, Prof. Osinbajo would eventually become President. Yet, Prof. Osinbajo never betrayed his boss, he rather held on to the helm of affairs in such a manner that till date, people wax lovingly of those times; accomplishments of which I have covered in past articles.

However, seemingly impervious to the mudslinging and pressure regarding his 2023 ambition, all Professor Yemi Osinbajo responded with is his laser focus on ensuring the success of the Buhari administration, touting the President’s people oriented policies and schemes, the latest being the hydra-headed National Economic Sustainability Plan designed to ameliorate the impact of the Covid-19 virus on Nigerians and the Nigerian economy.

So albeit we avoid doing the prophets and The Anointed any harm, we could do away with speculations and innuendos and like Professor Yemi Osinbajo, remain grounded in the moment and not unreservedly place stock on predictions.
