Osinbajo: The Change Disguised as Human

Image
Splattered all over the history of humankind, right from the very beginning of creation to this day, we’ve heard unbelievable stories of missed opportunities and misplaced priorities.   It is as if insensitivity to the available opportunities isn’t enough to contend with. Perhaps that is just the way it is meant to be so as to make the world go round, otherwise, what kind of world would we have had if opportunities are never lost so that someone else could get them and others spend a lifetime with the regret?   Insensitivity to opportunities, like I said, is an inevitable plague that humanity has always been bedeviled with from time immemorial. Even the Bible contains the bizarre story of how the Jews inadvertently rejected and condemned their own long awaited Messiah to death all because they were only human plagued with the scourge of insensitivity to opportunity and destituteness of insight. No doubt their expectation of a Messiah was an appearance of a mighty warrior w...

Proffering 21st Century Solution to Farmer Herder Clashes

Fela told us that Culture and Tradition are the teachers of the government, so we can understand why the government has over the years approached the menace of herdsmen and farmer clashes with kid gloves. It would not do to further point out that majority of the Presidents we have had tended to come from the same clan as the oppressors in these cases. However, the tensed situation observable across the country is finally reaching boiling point and if drastic and lasting measures are not put in place to prevent a complete breakdown of law and order, the scenario where other Sunday Igboho’s taking the fight to foreigners whom they believe are responsible for acts of crime in their home community. After the meeting of the South-West Governors with MACBAN and various security forces, the major take away was that all the states were going to abolish open grazing and upon reading the released communiqué, I immediately recalled that as far back as 2018/2019 Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, had in his cap...

Why Buhari exempted some Nigerians from paying tax - Akande

Mr Laolu Akande, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Office of the Vice President has explained why President Muhammadu Buhari has exempted some Nigerians from paying taxes. In an interview on Channels TV, Politics Today on Thursday, he explained how the Buhari government is diversifying and how the National Economic Sustainability Plan (NESP) is impacting citizens across the country. He added that Nigerians who have benefitted from the NESP did not have to know anyone to access loans and grants. On generating non-oil income and taxation, he said, “Those are the big resources, if you look at the budget this year we are trying to do a lot so as to get people into the taxation grip, so that we don’t have to increase taxes as it is. As a matter of fact, if you look at the finance bill very well, you would see what we have done in line with the President’s philosophy to take care of the average man as regards to taxes. If you are earning minimum wage you d...

NYSC Mobilisation: Group, APC knock Punch Newspaper for sensationalism, fake news

Image
A Nigerian political group has knocked Punch Newspaper for promoting sensationalism over facts in a report on the mobilization of corp members for the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), describing the news report as divisive and heinous. The Initiative to Save Democracy (ISD) in a statement issued in Abuja on Saturday said a Punch Newspaper story titled, “COVID-19: Again, FG snubs Osinbajo report, mobilises corpers to camps” was written to cause disharmony in the Buhari administration. According to the President of ISD, Mr Sunday James Akinloye, the report by the Punch Newspaper did not capture the true conversation but rather sought to tell lies for marketing purposes. “Vice President Yemi Osinbajo did not make any personal submission as a matter of fact, the report which they claim is Osinbajo’s report emanated from the Economic Sustainability Committee (ESC) which was set up by President Muhammadu Buhari and chaired by the VP. “It is also important to state that there was no rejec...

VIDEO: Nigerians call on Osinbajo to run in 2023

A group of fans and supporters are campaigning for Vice President Yemi Osinbajo to contest as President in 2023 presidential election. In a video published on social media by founder of Ovation Magazine, Chief Dele Momodu, Nigerians across the country urged the number two man to contest in 2023. The video sponsored by Peace and Humanitarian Support for Youth Development Foundation described the Vice President as a visionary leader. “Prof Yemi Osinbajo will create an environment for peace, unity and progress towards nation building with a robust economy and infrastructural development,” the two minute, 47 seconds long video said. The clarion call for Prof. Osinbajo to contest in 2023 was kicked off by Samuel Iku Akubaka. He said, “This is a clarion call, Nigerians are calling on Prof. Yemi Osinbajo in order to pilot the affairs of this country come 2023 and to also continue the good work he has done over the years. There is this saying that the voice of the people is the voice of God.”

RE: Buhari, Osinbajo to spend N3.4bn on feeding, travels. #EndSARS

Image
“Wonders shall never end, imagine these two men, how can they spend N3.4 billion on feeding and travelling when millions of Nigerians are hungry, these people are really wicked.” This was a text I received from a citizen. My response only angered the person. Why? Because my response was four laughing my ass off emoticons (🤣🤣🤣🤣), but the person didn’t find it funny, so I had to explain the reason for my response. I didn’t mean to aggravate your anger, I just found it funny that you too have fallen for this headline. Let me explain what the newspapers will never tell you. The N3.4 billion budgeted for the Office of the President and Vice President for feeding and travel is not for the two men and their family, it is for work. When you see the President or Vice President receive foreign leaders, ambassadors, local associations or groups, these people are often treated to lunch or dinner depending on the time of the visit. The people in the Aso Rock don’t run to the fast food join...

VP Osinbajo Visits NSHP Model House Sites, Commends Family Homes Funds

Image
Vice President Prof. Yemi Osinbajo visited National Social Housing Plan Model House sites in Abuja.  The Vice President commended the management and staff of the Family Homes Funds and encouraged them to be steadfast towards making houses available for Nigerians.  One of the key elements of the Economic Sustainability Plan drafted by the Osinbajo-led NEC is the Social Housing Scheme which is expected to provide over 300,000 homes priced as low as N2 million, create about 1.8 million jobs and bridgegap the country's housing deficit. Individuals who get the opportunity to participate in the project will earn a minimum of N75,000 a month as labourers. So far, about 20 states have indicated interest in participating in the scheme.  It is worthy of note that one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments under the scheme could be purchased for N1.4 million and N1.8 million respectively and citizens could pay as low as N8,000 per month to purchase the houses.  To apply,  visi...

2021 PROPHESIES AND THE OSINBAJO EXPECTATION

Image
The respiratory virus that came to be known as covid-19 was already in the picture as early as late November and major news channels had begun reporting it, but in the usual manner, Nigerian Pentecostal Ministries deliver prophetic utterances they claim to have gotten from God, yet almost none of them saw the coming of a global pandemic.  Based on this major gaffe, displeased Nigerians went on social media and declared that this time around, they were not going to put a lot of stock on whatever proclamations would come from the usual quarters. Hence it was a major surprise, when skits started circulating that Apostle Suleiman had held a church service on the 30th of December 2020, where he prophesied that God had told him that power (in the Executive) was going to change hands peacefully as number 2 was going to become number 1, and like clockwork, at least two other pastors, one of whom is Ghanaian Prophet Nigel Gaisie, have echoed the same prophecy.  At this juncture it bec...
