OMNIBUS BILL ON BUSINESS FACILITATION

Omnibus Bill on Business Facilitation is poised to be 1 single encompassing Bill.

• Our intention is to achieve three things in broad strokes:

1. Institutionalize some business climate reforms already achieved by the Office of the Vice President, Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council .

2. Amend some provisions of the present legislative framework that have been identified by stakeholders as bottlenecks for the business climate reforms.

3. Introduce new provisions that would accentuate business climate reforms. Ex: Components of the Executive Orders such as the One-Government principle, Default Approval, etc.

•There’s the need for contributions by lawyers, accountants, business operators and other stakeholders which is important so as to avoid a repeat of the condemnations that followed the enactment of CAMA 2020.

•Submissions by all stakeholders will enrich the content & texture of the proposed bill.

•All submissions must identify the current provision in need of amendment; State recommendations for amendment; & State expectations which recommended amendment will practically meet.

•Submissions to the Omnibus Bill on Business Facilitation should be sent to [omnibusbill@ebes.gov.ng] on or before October 23, 2020.

•New bill will solidify and institutionalize several reforms in the country’s business environment.
