Osinbajo on rebuilding Lagos

Vice President Prof. Osinbajo on behalf of the Federal Government chaired the launching of funds raising for the Rebuild Lagos project.

Osinbajo in his words stressed that the task of rebuilding Lagos must be a collective effort of Lagosians and all international friends of Lagos State.

For those of us at the Lagos Trust Fund inauguration, it was far from the fanfare that some had claimed on social media, it was a sombre time.

There were no laughs and there were no jokes. The only thing that stared us in the face were the grim images out of Lagos state. This event was not glamorous, in fact, it was the bringing together of donors and the inauguration of a Trust board that will ensure that Lagos is rebuilt after the destructions that followed the EndSARS protests.

Osinbajo however encouraged everyone, saying that although we were in trying times, it provides us an invaluable learning opportunity, adding that lessons learnt from this period will help shape our paths going forward.

One thing that stood out for me was how Vice President Yemi Osinbajo explained the trust deficit in Nigeria and why the government needed to do a lot of work to restore hope and belief.
