SOWORE TRICK NIGERIAN YOUTHS WITH REVOLUTIONARY PROTESTS
The recent calls for revolution by the infamous Yele Sowore, who still clings to his assumed role as “National Chairman of AAC” even after suspension, has become one issue that needs to be seen clearly for what it is. Calling out Nigerians to engage in unlawful protests and inciting violence on the streets will do this nation no good.
We have not finished mourning the loss of lives at the last Shiite protests, yet Sowore in his blood-thirsty quest for relevance would rather put other Nigerian lives at risk, all for his inordinate ambition. Even our former president Goodluck Jonathan once said his political ambition was not worth the blood of any Nigerian, but it seems the reverse is the case for Yele Sowore as the peace of Nigeria is worth nothing to him and his band of marauding ‘cashtivists’ who engage in their brand of political activism by risking the safety of other citizens.
One question that every Nigerian youth should ask is, why should I join this protest? Why has Sowore not responded to allegations of fraud? Remember that on on May 13, 2019, while addressing party supporters at the African Action Congress, AAC's NEC meeting Leonard Nzenwa, the party National Secretary (now acting chairman) accused Sowore and his associates of brazen acts that only fueled his own personal ambition at the detriment of the party's democratic values.
He said, "Since our party was registered, fellow party men and women, it has failed to hold the constitutional mandatory meetings. Huge monies, millions of naira and dollars have not properly been accounted for, particularly, hundreds of millions of dollars raised for our party's presidential candidate.
"Allegations of foreign funds which were allowed to flow into the party in contravention of the provision of the 1999 constitution and the Electoral Act and were utilized by the party's presidential candidate and certain individuals without knowledge of the party have been clearly established by all.
This makes it highly indubitable that Sowore is just another opportunistic hypocrite, trying to cash in on political activism for selfish monetary gains, once he finds gullible foreign donors he can deceive into parting with cold cash, supposedly in support for democracy in Africa’s most populous nation.
Recently the AAC informed the public that Nigerians should beware of Yele Sowore, whom they have suspended Sowore for financial misappropriation and anti-party activities. He is believed to be working with PDP and Atiku, going by the trajectory which their Dubai Strategy has taken ever since they were defeated at the presidential elections.
A call to anarchy by the dubious trio of Sowore, Segalink and Deji Adeyanju, will definitely not augur well for the average Nigerian on the streets who is only interested in making an honest living. Nigerians should not allow themselves get carried away by this new wave of sponsored protests targeted at pushing the selfish agenda of a few disgruntled election losers who are still unable to swallow their defeat.
