Faculty nominates Lagos Council boss for award

The Faculty of Education of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, has nominated Hon. Tajudeen Ajide, the Chairman of Surulere Local Government Area of Lagos, for a ‘Developmental Leadership Award’. Representatives of the faculty, led by Mr. Tayo Subair, met with the council chairman, on Wednesday, in Lagos. Others in the entourage are Dr. Adetunji Akeem; Dr. Adebakin Azeez; Dr. Ayo Adeleke; and Dr. Iyabode Akande.   Subair, while at the site of the 100-bed hospital the council has just built, praised the chairman for the various infrastructure projects undertaken so far by him.     “This is what leadership should entail”, Subair said. “It is not about siphoning money; it is not about embezzlement. It is about what you can do as a leader to better the lot of the people around you. I am actually impressed.” Moreover, the faculty in a letter signed by its dean Professor Bonke Omoteso, stated Ajide’s competence included criteria for his nomination for the award. ...

Reverend Johnnie Moore, an American evangelical leader and business person who founded the Kairos Company, a public relations firm has praised Vice President Yemi Osinbajo for his brilliance and leadership. Moore made the comment on Wednesday after Prof Osinbajo gave a virtual speech at a conference organised by Liberty University. Osinbajo who had earlier chaired the Federal Executive Council meeting at the Aso Villa spoke “brilliantly” on the theme Equity for Africa. “I am ALWAYS encouraged when I hear Pastor Osinbajo —the honorable Vice President of Nigeria — speak brilliantly about his country and the continent. “Pleased he took the time to conduct a live Zoom conversation with the organizers of the “Equity for Africa” conference,” he added. Nigerians mock Reno Omokri for misinformation, lies.

Nigerians have taken to Twitter to slam former presidential aide to Goodluck Jonathan, Reno Omokiri, over another attempt at misinforming users on the social media platform about the abduction of some Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) members in Kaduna. In a deliberate attempt to malign the Vice President of Nigeria, Prof Yemi Osinbajo and his ties to the Pentecostal church, RCCG, he wrote, “Dear @ProfOsinbajo, Proverbs 27:5 condemns secret love. You did not show secret love to Tinubu. You embraced him publicly. Why are you not embracing abducted members of @RCCG that ordained you as a pastor? Do you value Tinubu more than Christ and His church? #FreeRCCGMembers.” His claim comes a day after President Muhammadu Buhari and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo met with Service Chiefs and ordered them to secure the release of the victims of kidnapping across the country.
